Ask Tom Umek
Q: What is the benefit of changing weight settings?
A: The amplitude of the vibrator directly affects the material it is vibrating. If the concrete mix design is using larger rock then the percentage of the weights may need to be increased. Of course the opposite is true for smaller rock and a more flowable mix.
Q: Can I use the same vibrators on my wet cast and dry cast forms?
A: You should not. The power that it takes to consolidate the earth moist (dry cast) concrete is too much power for a flowable mix that is used in wet cast. The construction of the forms are also different and require different types of vibrators.
